Buttercup the Yamabuki is looking iffy…

Today is one of the coldest days in Minnesota so far. Wind chill driving the temperature to 30 or 40 below zero. Our circulating water pipes in the garage froze so our pumps had to be turned off. Little bit of ice on the indoor koi land tubs.

Buttercup picked today to behave oddly. Alternating normal koi behavior with the sidestroke (not a good thing) and playing dead (also not a good thing).

We have moved Buttercup to a separate container and she seems to be doing well at the time of this posting. We have air, the pond digger threw in a little salt, I put in some random medication – the yamabuki is coming around. Who knows what tomorrow will bring??
