Chinook and Coho have been outside for about two weeks now enjoying the upper pond. They look like they are growing and Coho has been getting some more sumi (black spots). You don’t really want the freckly look on the shusui and I read that high pH and water hardness can cause this to develop. Chinook is keeping a cleaner orange look on the sides. The two have very different personalities. Coho is often seen at the surface and swimming with the rest of the koi. I’m always worried that Chinook has been taken by some wild animal because he/she likes to hang at the bottom of the pond and comes up to the surface less frequently.
